Blog into 2010

Yo PRC Dudes

Thought I would follow the first brave members and Blog instead of yahooing.

Apologies for my absence from the pack recently as I have had a severe dose of man flu…sympathy accepted…

Site looking good and is hopefully starting to be utilised as per Martins design. Sound work thanks Martin.

I have attempted some tasteful photo uploads but seem to have failed with a new folder!

Looking into 2010 all is well:

Thought to recent club progress update meet was effective in raising awareness and enabling debate on a number of key club items (Web site, Run list, Members info access) thanks to all contributors.

Should we have another informal session before the AGM?

Folks mentioned near future events, session format, feedback on new run list, winter objectives to name but a few items not elaborated upon.

Glad to see and hear Syd is progressively becoming more mobile and will soon be back ‘sweeping’ the pack.

Looking forward to catching up with everyone at Terry’s New Year run/party bash but if we miss in the mêlée ….Happy New Year

Regards Steve  (can I say that in a Glob?)

Yo Steve

Great blog entry! I've made you a Moderator on the site which hopefully will allow you to create photo albums (in addition to adding photos to existing albums which all logged-in users can do). Hope that's okay and if you still have problems (creating albums!) let me know.

See you tonight!

Yours sincerely
Martin

PRC Silver anniversary in 2010

We have had a few discussions regarding the clubs 25 year anniversary in 2010.
Dave identified the key date recently and although Nick may challenge the exact date and time of the first PRC run session it seems appropriate to mark the event.

So here is the proposal folks:

We have a party in May- June time and invite all past- present-future club members to join in the celebration.
We erect a borrowed marquee in one of Mr Wilson’s grass fields.
Or we book the Fitz club.
We invite Terry’s family Cailhe band if available and Staff Only (Pickering Youth rock band. Members include Sam Marks and Jake Hampshire so we have some management influence over the bands bookings!)
We dance and make emotional speeches.
We eat plain and simple food provide by those attending.
We drink a mixed concoction provide by those attending.

Does this sound like the rocky foundation for building on?

Suggest we sit down before the end of January to decide if we are good to go.
We need to identify commitment to attend, dates, establish a few responsible officers etc.

Any interest Folks?

Regards Steve

Scotland Run bike cabin holiday

Hi Folks

Just thinking about another bike-run excursion before things get booked up.

I have stayed in these cabins near Callender in central Scotland prior to their refurbishment.
The area provides gentle running-biking on trails based on the old railway with option of uphill (Ben Ledi) behind the site. The routes offer traffic free fun as the road runs up the opposite side of the Loch and Glen.

Accommodation is log style cabins sleeping six well above our normal basic (YHA)expectation with veranda hot tub and associated facilities.
If we go mid week (Mon-Fri) the cost works out at £48 per person for the first week in May.

We could break the journey up with an overnight in Glentress or Whinlatter MTB centres.

A few folks have indicated interest in the venue the dates and the cost so would anyone be up for the run-bike-social week away?

So far those giving me positive vibes are:
